ETCS has been chosen for the world’s longest rail tunnel as well.

Trains will speed through the 57km-long tunnel at 250km/h. Thanks to faster trains, more frequent services and better connections, the Gotthard Base Tunnel will greatly improve rail services in the heart of Europe.
AlpTransit Gotthard is creating a flat rail link for future travel through the Alps.
